Summary:
The operation assistant will work closely with the plant Manager and act as a Liaison between the Manager and the Production associates.
As the production assistant you will be responsible for making sure the lumber is cut to the right size for production needs as well as overall inventory control of pallets, boards, stringers and lumber.
Will also be responsible for purchasing raw materials.
Must be proficient in excel and excellent at following up not only with the plant manager but also the production associates.
The candidate needs to be able to be an excellent communicator and be able to juggle multiple task at one time.

Must be willing to work inside and outside with production in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
-Inventory Control:
Must ensure that all Lumber inventory is set for upcoming orders and production to start every day -Purchase raw materials to assist in direct production -Work Orders:
Creates and distributes Work orders for the day to all production associates -Understand the most efficient use of the Lumber for our upcoming orders and the different SKU's of pallets, boards and stringers and Decide how to get the best yield out of the lumber.
-Work closely with scheduling to make sure the inventory needed for the day/week is ready to be shipped when the order is due.
-Track Inventory trends/ changes and be able to pick out discrepancies and pin point the problem -Complete any task dealing with tracking production or otherwise given to you by the Plant manager
Qualifications Education:
Associates Degree in Operations strongly preferred.
Work
Experience:
- 1-3 years of inventory management and production scheduling experience or educational equivalent - 1-5 years of experience in Lumber or pallet industry is preferred/ a huge plus - 1-3 years buying/purchasing - 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment/ machinery - Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties Capabilities and Skill Requirements:
-Excellent Communication Skills -High Level of integrity and work ethic - Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics, and read, analyze, and interpret reports relating to inventory performance metrics -Proficiency in Microsoft Office/ Excel -Strong problem-solving skills including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure -Must be Excellent at following up with the plant manager and production associates with production needs and questions -Must be willing to work inside and outside with production in all weather conditions.
-Fork lift license is a plus -Must be able to lift 40-80lbs Job Type:
